Simple Christmas Tree Ribbon Decorating Ideas
Have you ever considered adding Christmas tree ribbon to your already decorated tree? Well, this year, I was inspired to add a simple ribbon to our tree! Adding ribbon to a Christmas tree will give it a fuller look and also help tie in with the rest of your Christmas tree decor. The ribbon I chose added a touch of elegance while still keeping it cozy, too. And wow! It made a big statement to our tree. I had already decorated our tree like we usually would. However, I decided to take it to another level and add the decorative ribbon. I love how it turned out!
I know you would generally add ribbon first, but I decided to add the ribbon later. However, next year, I will add the ribbon first.
Choosing Ribbon For Your Tree
Now, let’s talk about choosing a ribbon. I chose a wide, light golden faux linen wired ribbon with a bit of sparkling shimmer to it, too. The ribbon also has a golden edge trim. I love how the ribbon gives an elegant and cozy feel at the same time. Just remember to make sure the ribbon you choose is wired, allowing you to shape the ribbon however you want.
You are probably wondering where I shop for ribbons for our home. I find most of my ribbon choices at Michaels and Hobby Lobby. You can also find ribbons at Walmart, JoAnn’s, and the Dollar Store, too.
How To Add Vertical Ribbon To The Tree
I started at the top and cascaded long lengths of ribbon in a vertical fashion down the tree. The top of the ribbon is gently tucked into the tree. The ribbon is then weaved and tucked in and out of the tree. Lastly, I gently tucked the ribbon into the bottom of the tree. You can add as many ribbons as you want. A total of six long strands of ribbon were added to our tree. Remember to choose a wired ribbon. Wired ribbon is essential to help you to shape it any way you decide.
Choices Of Ribbon
Of course, there are many choices of ribbons to choose from. Velvet provides a luxurious feel, while plain reds or greens will give a classic touch. Satin can give a classic, elegant look to your tree. Plaid ribbons may provide a vintage look, while jute can give a cozy rustic feel. This is your time to be creative and choose the perfect ribbon for your tree!
