Creating A Charming Farmhouse Valentine Decor Mantel

When it comes time to decorate for Valentine’s, I prefer to keep things simple and minimal. I enjoy focusing on the mantel as a focal point when decorating our home for the holidays. Of course, you could take these same ideas and decorate a console table or dining table, too. This year, I brought in a charming farmhouse style of Valentine’s by bringing in neutral colors like creams and light pinks with pops of reds, too.

You can take a look behind the scenes of our Valentine’s mantel video here.

Remember, one tip I love to share is first to look around and see what you already have. I enjoy repurposing items I already own for a unique and personal touch when it comes time to decorate our home.

Valentine Floral Basket Mantel Centerpiece

The centerpiece for the mantel starts with a wooden windowpane arch as a backdrop. A light-woven neutral basket with neutral faux greenery sits in the middle. Notice the faux greenery has a realistic look. Choosing realist faux greenery and florals allows these pieces to be used throughout the seasons. The sweet red metal heart picks were added to the neutral floral basket. Now, of course, this Valentine’s basket could be a beautiful centerpiece for a table, too. However, it sits on our fireplace mantel. This completes a simple and charming centerpiece for the mantel.

Decorating The Sides Of The Mantel

The sides of the mantel have been decorated with similar pieces. Multiple candle holders and candlestick holders of various sizes sit along the mantel with colors of neutral creams, antique golds, and wood tones. I then placed the light pink candlesticks, along with pink candle pillars, on top of the candle holders. Additionally, the sweet cream-painted mason jars hold dainty faux pink flowers, with a jute ribbon bow attached to them. I actually hand-painted and distressed these mason jars, making them a favorite to decorate with throughout the year.

Adding A Touch Of Red Wooden Beaded Garland

To complete the charming Valentine’s mantel, I attached a charming red wooden bead garland with the sweetest yarn tassels. I love how the garland adds another level to decorating with its farmhouse style for the holiday season. Also, I’m sure you are wondering how I attached the beaded garland to the mantel. If you guessed command hooks, you would be correct!

The command hooks have been placed on the ends of the mantel, with one in the center, which allows the garland to be securely placed along the mantel.

Valentine’s Coffee Bar Decor

Another area you may consider decorating for Valentine’s is the coffee bar.

Valentine's Coffee Bar Decor

Our coffee bar is kept simple with a few sweet Valentine’s mugs. The coffee mugs display dainty hearts with a red heart handle. They are displayed on a two-tier distressed shelf. The shelf was handmade by me and happens to be one of my favorite pieces to decorate during the holiday season. The best thing about this seasonal decor is, of course, that the coffee cups are functional and also a great budget-friendly decor idea, too.
